Garlic Cheese Biscuits

Here's a quick and easy drop biscuit recipe that would be a tasty accompaniment to the tomato soup. It uses a packaged biscuit mix as the base, so it mixes up in a flash.

The biscuits closely resemble the popular ones served at a famous seafood restaurant chain, and like theirs are best served warm. I must confess I could make a meal of these flavorful biscuits.

  • 2 cups biscuit mix (like Bisquik)
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp garlic powder (to your taste)
Stir together the biscuit mix and milk, just to blend.

Add the shredded cheese.

Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet.

Bake at 450 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes - until golden brown.

Mix together the garlic powder and melted butter.

Brush the tops of the warm biscuits generously with the garlic butter.

Serve at once.

Makes about 8 to 12 biscuits, depending on the size.
