Hi, it's Alpal!

I'm 11 years old and just started 6th grade. I have a mom, dad and two annoying brothers.

My favorite sports are snow skiing, water skiing (look for my upcoming article about summer vacation) and volleyball. I have been snow skiing for 5 years now (check out my column all about snow skiing) and I love it!

Two Olympic skiers I admire are Picabo Street and Lil' Pepper. They are really talented.

I also love volleyball. I have been playing since the 4th grade, and just recently watched Olympic beach volleyball players Keri Walsh and Misty May win the gold for the U.S.A. in Athens, Greece.

I just learned how to water ski recently on my vacation to Kelley's Island and immediately loved it!

I really like music and listen to it every day. I enjoy all kinds of music and I have lots of favorite singers. Some of my top favorites are Lindsay Lohan, Kelly Clarkson and Hilary Duff.

I heard that Lindsay just signed a record deal with a company. Lindsay and Hilary are also my favorite actresses. They do a great job.

Movies are awesome! Again I have lots of favorites, but two of the tops are Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (Lindsay Lohan) and A Cinderella Story (Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray - another favorite star of mine!)

I also like to read. I read a lot. Some of my favorites are the Harry Potter books, All-American-girl, and tons, tons, tons more! My favorite authors are J.K. Rowling and Gail Carson Levine.

My favorite place is new York city. It's absolutely gorgeous! (read my column about our trip there)
