Q. How much of a difference is there between the 99 cent shampoos and the $9.99 shampoos? Is it worth it to pay more? What about conditioner?

A. Have you ever heard the saying "you pay for what you get"? It's true.

I suggest you stick with professional name products such as Bed Head, Big-N-Sexy, Biosilk, Chi, Design Essentials, Joico, KeraCare, Matrix, Mizani, Nexxus Phyto Organics, Nioxin, OPI, Paul Mitchell, Redkin and Sebastian.

If you have a regular stylist ask them what they would recommend. There are diffrent products for different hair types and 99 cent products usually do not give you that option.

Q. When I wash my hair I use hot water to open the pores so they get clean and then cold to close them up again.

My friends and I were talking about this and they think I'm nuts. Am I?

A. It is better to use warm water when shampooing your hair. Warm water cleans well. Hot water tends to make the hair tangle.

You are RIGHT! about the cool rinse. Use cool water to rinse the conditioner, the cool water not only closes your pores, it also seals the conditioner in, helps to detangle and make the hair have a nice sheen.
