Caryl Hall - Speaknup
Our Societal Deficiencies

You probably have something you’re passionate about; a topic that animates you and gets your blood flowing when you’re engaged in discussion. It could be anything – religion, politics, the best football team or whether Rock ‘n Roll is better than Country music.

I’ve noticed that I have a hot button too. It seems I really get going when I or others make certain observations about behavior in public, screaming kids in restaurants or on airplanes or the obvious display of a lack of common sense.

Unfortunately, such topics have been coming up very frequently over the last couple of years. Yes, even mild mannered, quiet me gets on a soapbox. So I’m learning how to blog.

By the title, you may have guessed correctly that I’m a bit unhappy with the way American behavior has digressed. As I watch people, interact with them, and read the news, I now do more than just shake my head in disbelief. I get angry. And I’ve become more vocal about it.

If you choose to “listen”, my topics will cover such issues as manners, failure at parenting and the poisons we feed our pets, among others. Feel free to comment on each post and please invite others to come visit.
