KellyStyle:
Summer Coolers
Cool stuff to wear for hot summer fun

Summer Coolers - Kelly Smith

1. Skirts

Obviously shorts are synonymous with keeping cool but another great way to go is the flirty skirt. This can be a very appropriate look for work and play if you buy a nice knee length one to dress up or down.

A fun printed skirt with a basic tee is a great look, not to mention that knee-length skirts are very forgiving for whatever shape you may be!

2. Tank tops

This look is great for warmer days (anyone hear 94 as the high for tomorrow?) and definitely a classic look!

If you are worried about it being too skimpy, try layering two tank tops in fun bold colors. Also, skip the ribbed styles because this can add bulk which leads to more heat!

3. Sundresses

There are so many different styles that it's almost impossible NOT to find one that's just right for you. Plus, when worn with the right day or night accessories, this look can compliment both times of the day.

4. The L.W.D.

Little White Eyelet Dress

The little white dress is a must! One classic style to go for is an all-over eyelet.

Nothing says summer quite like eyelet fabric. Plus it breathes well and never really goes out of style. At least not for more than a season or two!

5. Flip-flops

I'm sure you are thinking the cheap pairs from Old Navy that come in every color imaginable. And you're right, but you're also forgetting the cute, dressier pairs that can be found at Payless or Dillards.

Flip flops, while casual, can also be worn with dressier silhouettes as long as you have a dressier pair like brown leather with gold trim.

6. Linen

Highly absorbent and light, this fabric offers a great escape to summer heat. You can find this fabric used in just about every look and color. Just be careful because it does wrinkle easily and if you are trying to look your best, wrinkles just won't cut it.

7. Chiffon

While most consider this an evening look, a chiffon blouse for the day time can also be a great summer look that will keep you cool. It's breathable and really adds class to any outfit. Match it up with a nice pair of shorts and you are good to go!

8. Seersucker

The way this fabric is woven (which gives it its wrinkled appearance) allows the fabric to stay away from the skin allowing for better air circulation.

This gives us another great look to wear for summer, as well as spring. A cute skirt for pair of board shorts in this is comfortable and stylish - a definite must!
