Charity Bands

Juvenile Diabetes

Charity Bands

Charity Bands and Rally Bands are two growing organizations dedicated in assisting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) in its global fight for a cure for juvenile diabetes, also known as Type 1 diabetes.

Members of our board personally know what many are experiencing who live with this disease and are dedicated to finding a cure!

Founder Hank Reed says, "The inspiration for Charity Bands began when my mother, Lee A. Reed passed away in August 2004 at the young age of 49. She suffered from the most severe complications of juvenile diabetes during her lifetime. She was diagnosed at the age of 9.

I wanted to make a difference and somehow continue my mother's legacy and raise the awareness of juvenile diabetes, so others would better understand how important it is to find a cure.

After discussions with the JDRF we realized that Max Rowe, a young boy from St. Louis, MO also wanted to make a big difference in the fight against JD. With the help of the JDRF and the Rowe family, we came together and formed a partnership to promote the orange Max-Life band.

The idea behind the bracelet is to MAXIMIZE AWARENESS, MAXIMIZE HOPE, and ultimately MAXIMIZE LIFE.

My mother would have supported Max's efforts and his motivation to Max-imize life! Lee was determined to continue her fight against JD and live a regular lifestyle, no matter the circumstances. Please support our cause, so Max and many other people with this disease do not have to suffer as my mother did. With your help, we can help raise over $1 million for juvenile diabetes research."

All proceeds will benefit the programs of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), which are working to find the cause, treatment and cure for type I diabetes.
