February 20, 2007

Dr. Denise Reading, president of Corporate College, was the keynote speaker at the Smart Business Live Cleveland event Tuesday February 20, 2007

Dr. Reading told how 1 in 4 Ohioans has no education beyond high school and that the region is crying for skilled talent. Even in our largest industry, health care, there is a huge need for nurses, pharmacists and other skilled workers.

Manufacturing still accounts for 40% of the jobs in Ohio, yet we lack the trained workers to fill the jobs.

Her mission at Corporate College at Tri-C is to boost the number of people with the skills necessary for a productive life.
