We visited the Siam Café for lunch March, 2009. It is a very clean, crisp looking restaurant. The service was very prompt. The parking lot seems small, but I believe there is also parking in the rear.

Special Tip: Get there by noon if you are going for lunch and you can park right at the door. There is no problem with steps.

The lunch menu (served from 11 to 3) was very reasonable with an average meal costing about $6-8.00. They also have beer and wine.

Even though the name Siam should have given me a clue I was surprised that this was an Asian (Thai) restaurant. Other than the shrimp served with rice or as part of a dish, there was no other seafood on the lunch menu though we did see the fish tanks with fish, crabs, lobster, etc.

I had the Tender Beef Pepper lunch combination which includes fried rice and a spring roll. It was very good and only $6.95. The menu said it was hot and spicy but they would alter to suit your taste. I asked for mild and to my surprise it really was. A friend had Sweet and Sour Chicken, also the combo and also $6.95. They enjoyed it very much.

The third diner had Cashew Chicken and found it to be quite tasty, with a lot of nuts and pineapple but not a lot of chicken. The fourth had Steak Kew Vietnamese (Bo Luc Lac) with yellow curry rice instead of fried rice and enjoyed it quite a bit.

We would certainly recommend the restaurant and will visit again whenever we are in the area. We had courteous service and found the restaurant to be inviting.

Special Tip: Ask for a pot of hot tea. It's delicious and included with your lunch. The staff refills your water glass quickly too.
