Ask Rachael
Late Bloomer

I guess I am a late bloomer.

I still like to read and talk and play games and visit the dog park and most of my friends that I used to do this with are now more interested in makeup and dancing and boys.

I hope I never bloom if that's how I will turn out.

Dear Bloomer,

It is ok for you to not want to be interested in boys, makeup, and dancing. You can form your own values and interests.

It is also important not to rush growing up, believe me, it already goes fast enough. You need to take your time.

You might want to consider trying to find a few new friends who share your values and interests, while remaining friends with your old friends.

Its very important to surround yourself with friends who are similar to you, so you are not lonely.

Good luck and keep me posted.

Rachael
